![]() ![]() ![]() She was preceded in death by a sister, and a great granddaughter.įuneral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. She is survived by her children, Debra Piper of Parkesburg, PA, Karen Souden and her husband, Michael, of Morgantown, PA, and Barbara Piper of South Carolina, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and siblings, Sandy Barker of Muscle Shoals, AL, and William Killian of Coatesville. She raised three daughters, much on her own, and maintained loving relationships with them. She endeared herself to all her family, immediate and extended. She was a good friend to all who knew her including her friends from Kings Way Independent Church where she was a member for greater than 30 years. She loved to travel, and even in her later years would travel to visit her sister in Alabama, her daughter in South Carolina, and her lifelong friend Brigette in Tennessee, who, this year, preceded her in death. She loved being a grandmother and a great grandmother, and delighted in the time spent with her grandchildren. She was a fierce scrabble player, and even played by her own rules. She loved crossword puzzles and playing games. She enjoyed driving the Amish, going to church and shopping at the local Amish stores. Helen was a resident of Chester and Lancaster counties all her life. Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late George W. ![]() She was the wife of the late Robert Young who passed away in 2008. Young, 80, formerly of Gap, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Paoli, PA. ![]()
